Pop music with heart, Nickita is raising funds and awareness for Independent midwives and the organisation Childbirth Choices Matter with her upcoming single ‘Breathe Again’. A talented singer-songwriter, shown by her work with Sony Music and I.E. Management, Nickita will be using her ability to inspire the country with an appropriate drop on March 14th, otherwise known as Mother’s Day.
‘Breathe Again’ is an uplifting pop ballad. Whilst the lyrics are profoundly meaningful, the powerful vocal performance overflowing with emotion elevates them even further. The track is full of sentiment, which reflects the care for the cause which Nickita has. Being an experienced Doula herself (a woman employed to provide guidance and support to a pregnant woman during labour), the track is not only well-produced but carries itself with a level of authenticity, providing listeners with a wonderful audio experience and a real want to support the singer in her mission. A catchy hook plays underneath the chorus, showing that the song is not only to raise awareness but also to energise anyone who listens.
Whilst avoiding the potential monotony of pop music, ‘Breathe Again’ plays with recognisable tropes such as synths, harmonies and a bellow worthy chorus. Overall, the single is a refreshing look at women’s birthing rights made accessible through the medium of music; Nickita has created a passionate track that bypasses any cheesy connotations, raising funds and awareness for a more-than-worthy cause.
The single release in March, sales from which will help raise money required to get independent midwives back to work and contribute to the vital work done by Childbirth Choices Matter, will also be accompanied by a documentary film on women’s birthing rights.
